We are current not accepting new repairs.

Unfortunately, work has overwhelmed us once again. Since I have not been able to get things under control, for those already waiting, I must stop new repairs from arriving and focus on getting the backlog cleaned up.

If you have a unit already here, we will complete it!

I am currently targeting July 1st as a restart date and we are doing everything possible to get caught up. This page will be updated as soon as there is news to report. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

August 1, 2009

We are currently not accepting new repairs.

We are simply overwhelmed with work and several personal issues at the present time. Since I have not been able to get things under control, I must stop new repairs from arriving and focus on getting the backlog cleaned up for all those already waiting.

If you have a unit here, we will complete it!

We are doing everything possible to dig out and we'll update this page as soon as there is news to report. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

June 25, 2009

Current backlog times are approximately eight weeks

Please see the news below for the reasons why. There has been no change in situation and while we've been tempted to temporarily halt repairs again, we don't want to do that unless the situation gets worse than it already is. Yes, we know this creates some hardships for those already waiting and those needing units repaired but we think it is much better for you to know up front the ugly truth.

We are doing everything possible to dig out and we'll update the news page as soon as there is a change in the wait time. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

March 9, 2009

Current backlog times are approximately six to eight weeks

While it has been long overdue, I have not updated the news page since there has been no change in the situation since December. We are still overloaded with work due to a complete lack of time that can be devoted to calculators. Blame the economy - since that is the real problem. I had to go back to full time work outside the HP business so there is little to no time currently for calculators.

So, rather then delaying peoples decisions to either repair or perhaps replace, I've put things back in online mode with the understanding that if you send a unit in for repair, I will get to it, I just cannot say with any certainty how long it will take. I will not be providing estimates as I had in the past since I found I could not accurately do that and I do not want to promise something I cannot deliver on.

Please feel free to email me with any questions or special situations, I'll do my best to help out if at all possible. Above all, thank you for your continued support and understanding.

December 8, 2008

Due to a number of factors, our backlog situation has grown to unmanageable levels. So, it is time to take some drastic measures.

We have decided to temporarily suspend new repairs. Yes, we are currently NOT accepting units for repair until we can get things under control.

We just haven't been able to control the estimated times to repair and as a result, we have a number of disappointed customers, something we don't like to do.

If you have already sent a unit in, we will complete it! But, we ask that you do not send any units for repair after December 10th, 2008. Once we can get the backlog cleaned up, we will remove this message and things can get back to normal!

We anticipate being back online with 5-10 day turn-around on repairs by February 1, 2009. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to being able to provide excellent service and speed in the new year.

September 1, 2008

Just an update on our backlog situation. Things have gotten out of hand over the last few months and our lead times have stretched out beyond four weeks. We consider this a major problem and ask for your patience as we work diligently to get things under control. The root of the problem has been an influx of older LED machines which has really unbalanced the time estimates that we use. Please remember this is not a production line but one at a time repair. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

February 7, 2008

If you had been around in 2003 when this all started, I had planned to provide a major facelift to site within a few months. In reality, it took us five years! While the old site served us well for that period, it was way past time for an update. This new look represents lots of learning and hard work. It is the first step towards a more interactive site where we process your repair requests online. That will be coming shortly but for now, I need to get back to work fixing calculators, not writing about them in html!

January 2, 2008

We updated our contact page to show that you can now reach us during normal business hours. Yes, we're now here on a full time basis. Our backlog, while it is much better than this past summer, is still running four to six weeks on most models. If you have a dire need for a single repair, please contact us with the model and the problem and we will do what we can to expedite delivery. As always, we thank you for your patience and understanding.

October 1, 2007

Backlog update: We're currently running approximately six weeks with that number coming down each week. Thank you for your continued patience!

July 15, 2007

As you can see it has been quite some time since our last update. The reason is simple, there has been no change for the better in our backlog. In truth it has gotten worse due to lots of unscheduled travel and other time lost. I didn't want to post more of the same for fear of the blah, blah, blah factor. But, there is good news!

As of July 23rd, 2007, FixThatCalc.com will have its first full time employee. What that means to our customers is that the sometimes awful wait times of the past two years should be gone by the end of August. This represents a major change in our business and we'd like to sincerely thank all of our customers, past, present and future for helping us grow to where we can justify the extra expense and changes this brings. We look forward to helping you with all your HP calculator repair needs for now and the future. Another change this brings will be the long promised online store which will be listing our vintage and recent HP models for sale.
